Bourns Launches 1500 VDC POWrFuse™ High-Power Fuse Series Tailored for Solar Power Systems

Bourns, Inc. has introduced its PF-PVC150R Series POWrFuse™ High-Power Fuses, which are specifically engineered for photovoltaic (gPV) applications. This new series offers improved voltage and current ratings that adhere to the UL 248-19 standard, a critical requirement for protection in gPV systems. With an elevated voltage rating, the series is designed to meet the advancing needs of next-generation solar power installations, while its wider current range enhances versatility and supports greater flexibility during research and development.

The PF-PVC150R Series is rated for 1500 VDC and currents ranging from 4 to 30 amperes, featuring an interrupting rating (IR) of up to 50 kA, which contributes to increased power density and more efficient use of space. This series provides multiple package options, including ferrule and crimp cap configurations, to offer maximum installation flexibility. Additionally, these high-power fuses are compatible with larger photovoltaic modules and longer string lengths, addressing the evolving requirements of solar power systems.

Currently, the Bourns® PF-PVC150R Series POWrFuse™ High-Power Fuses are available through Bourns’ authorized distribution partners. The series is fully RoHS* compliant and free from halogens, aligning with environmental safety standards.
